3rd Birthday Party
We had Maddie's birthday party last weekend since her birthday always falls on Thanksgiving weekend we wanted her friends to be able to celebrate with her! We had a Rapunzel themed party and she loved it!! I can't believe she is almost 3!
Maddie- You are my observer! You watch and feel out situations before you jump in. Once you are comfortable though, you jump in and go full throttle! You love your sister and want to do everything that she does. You are full of love and Mommy and Daddy can't get enough of your sweet kisses! You are super excited about going to school next year and ask us often if you are big enough yet. We love you and can't wait to see you grow into a beautiful little girl!

What We Have Been Up To...

We had a giant flood at church about a week and a half ago. It was been terrible! We are renting space so we have been waiting on our "landlord" to deal with things and they are overwhelmed so finally 2 weeks later, we are finally getting new carpet in. The picture above was from the day of the flood. It was 2-3 inches of standing water and then just started soaking into the carpet and spreading so this picture was taken when I got there about 3 hours after it had been found. So, sorry I haven't updated this lately, I have been spending more time than normal at church trying to clean up the mess!

Halloween 2011

The girls had a lovely time trick-or-treating! They got tons of candy. We sent Eric to work with a grocery sack full of candy and still had probably another sack left at home! Abby was Fancy Nancy and thought it was great! Maddie was Rapunzel. They love to dress up!

Charlottesville/Apple Picking

We went to Charlottesville for the weekend and to go apple picking! We went up on Friday and visited Monticello (we didn't go up to the house because it was a bit overpriced!) and to the University of Virginia. The fall colors were WONDERFUL!!!! The girls had a great time. Saturday (today) we got up and went to the top of the mountain to Carter Mountain Orchard to pick apples. We started off with some apple cider donuts and hot apple cider. It was a perfect crisp fall morning. The girls loved the donuts and cider. We then met our friends, Mel, Reggie, and Gabby and headed up to the apple trees. We picked 19 pounds of Fuji apples! Yum! We purchased some pink lady apples as well. We were going to pick them but the kids were getting restless. We also got some apple butter and some wine because the orchard also has a vineyard. We went back into Charlottesville and had lunch at Belmont BBQ. Yummy good! Eric noticed some OU socks hanging on the wall and asked and the owner is from Norman, OK! Small world and no wonder the BBQ was so good. We came home after that and the girls and I made some applesauce from some of our apples. Abby wants to make a pie so I will do that sometime this week!

Tennis Lessons

Abby had her very first tennis lesson on Monday. She said she had fun. She learned the parts of the court and can name them all. We got there a little early for pick up so we could snap some pictures. We were sneaky! She didn't see us until it was time for her to leave.
