Jennifer and Ann Dee came for a visit on Thursday evening. Friday we spent the day at the beach. Saturday we spent the day at the spa and then went to dinner and a chick flick. Sunday we went to the Fort Story lighthouse and to the Navy base to see the ships and helos. We then went to the mall for a little while and then took the girls to the airport. We had a fun weekend!!

Maddie's First Tooth

Maddie cut her first tooth today. It isn't through far enough for a picture yet but we did take a picture of her today! :) She has been a little fussy but is being a trooper.

We did our annual blueberry and blackberry picking this morning. Eric had today off so he came along. We picked blackberries first and got a lot in just 30 minutes of picking. Abby did much better this year and only ate a few, most of them made it in the box. Then we went and picked blueberries for about an hour-hour and a half. She did really well for the first 45 minutes and then was too busy playing with her friends. After we did our picking we all went to lunch at the local pizza place. We came home and Abby had a really good nap. There are more pictures in the July 2009 folder.

Fireworks

Both girls did great at the fireworks. We weren't sure how Maddie would do but she just watched what was going on. We had some friends over and had brisket, corn on the cob, baked beans, and angel food cake with strawberries. After that, we walked probably a 1/2 mile to a spot in the neighborhood where we could see the fireworks that were being shot from the city park across the main road. It was great, we watched them, walked home (Maddie fell asleep) and didn't fight any traffic!

We had granite installed in the bathrooms earlier this week. It looks so much better! Eric is still working on the plumbing to get the sinks up and running but it at least it looks good.

Fun at the Beach

We went to the beach yesterday for just a little while. We had a dinner picnic and then some time in the ocean. Abby thought is was great. Maddie fell asleep the last time we were there but this time she got down and had lots of fun kicking in the sand. Abby tried to eat the sand when she was little but Maddie had no desire to try to eat it. Both girls were worn out when got home! More pictures will be in the July 2009 folder to the right.
